The newly announced Minister for Creative Industries, Danny Pearson, has today announced 78 arts and cultural organisations will share in $7.85 million in grants to help creative businesses develop COVIDSafe practices.

Among these recipients is Music Victoria which will use its share of the funds to host training and workshops, while Port Fairy Spring Music Festival and Wangaratta Festival of Jazz and Blues are among the regional music events to be awarded.

The fund was announced by former Creative Industries Minister Martin Foley back in April

Foley was recently replaced by Pearson when he took over as Health Minister replacing Jenny Mikakos.

“The pandemic has hit our creative organisations hard and they need support to keep employing, commissioning and serving their communities," said Pearson today.

“As we move safely and steadily towards COVID Normal these grants will support jobs across the spectrum – on stage, back of stage, in the office – and provide a base for recovery on the other side of the pandemic.”
