It seems that fans of The Osbournes are in for a treat with the famous family hitting the screens once more.

According to Rolling Stone, there's a biopic about Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne and his wife Sharon in the works.

It's been confirmed that the film is in the "very, very early" stages, with their son Jack Osbourne saying that there is a writer locked in for the production.

"We said to go from 1979 to 1996," said Jack.

"I can’t say too much, but the film is an active development."

“From what I understand, it’s about Sharon and I and our relationship,” added Ozzy. “It’s how we met, fell in love, and how we married. She’s my other half. She grew up a lot with me, and I grew up a lot with her. We celebrated 38 years of marriage just recently.”

“Our film will be a lot more real,” said Sharon. “We don’t want it to be squeaky, shiny clean and all of that. We’re not making it for kids. It’s an adult movie for adults.”

There is currently no word on when to expect the film.

Ozzy first came to prominence with Black Sabbath when he co-founded the group in the late '60s. He was fired from the band in the late '70s and went out to have a successful solo career. Ozzy rejoined Black Sabbath in 1997.

The family - along with daughter Kelly - became pop culture stars in 2002 with the launch of early reality show The Osbournes

Ozzy was due to headline Download Festival Australia last year but cancelled the appearance following hospitalisation for pneumonia. The singer's 2020 tour was called off in February due to "various health reasons".
