A brand new metal label has launched in Australia this week.

Spearheaded by music promoter Bailey Graham and PR veteran Chris Maric, Octane Records will look to bring a "new and exciting approach to the country’s ever-evolving heavy metal industry".

“Being involved with Australia’s heavy music industry for the last number of years as a promoter, booking agent & artist manager, I’ve come to adore our country’s incredible heavy music community, and I’ve always looked forward to seeing what I can do to put in that extra mile for our world-class talent, both at home and when abroad," Graham said.

"Octane Records is the next step in providing a platform for such talent to shine on a bigger stage, and I can’t wait to put in the hours making it happen!”

The label has already got the ball rolling by locking in its first signing, Aussie melodic metal favourites Vanishing Point.

The Melbourne outfit have signed an Australian-exclusive deal for their next full-length album with Octane, which will then be released to the rest of the world via German label AFM Records.

"To be working with Bailey and the team at Octane Records on our new album is just the start in what I can see as being a solid, transparent and long term partnership that in my belief will do justice to the music that we have created especially with the new album and it will only get stronger with our next journey," Vanishing Point guitarist Chris Porcianko said.
