Hoodoo Gurus’ Dave Faulkner has been busy as of late, and after reuniting with iconic punk outfit The Victims last month, the Aussie muso will make an appearance at this year’s Joey Ramone Birthday Bash.
The annual event, which will be live-streamed this year due to the COVID pandemic, will kick off this Wednesday, May 20, at 10am AEST and will feature surviving Ramones, CJ and Richie, alongside Blondie’s Clem Burke, Talking Heads’ Tina Weymouth and Chris Frantz and local favourites Dune Rats, with Faulkner presenting a testimonial to the late, great Joey Ramone.
A huge Ramones fan, Faulkner was extended an invitation by Joey’s younger brother, Mickey Leigh, who launched the annual event in 2001 following the music legend’s passing.
Proceeds from the 2020 Joey Ramone Birthday Bash will go towards the Joey Ramone Foundation for Lymphoma Research.
