Tame Impala fans in the UK sure love their vinyl, as evident by The Slow Rush’s latest achievement.
The February LP from Perth psych-rock maestro Kevin Parker (our pick for Album Of The Week upon release) has reportedly shifted 6,900 copies in the UK, making it the most-sold new vinyl in the region this year.
Overall, it’s the year's fourth best-selling vinyl album in the UK, behind Amy Winehouse’s Back To Black (#1), Nirvana’s Nevermind (#2) and Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours (#3).
It’s been a huge year for Parker, with The Slow Rush topping the ARIA Albums chart upon release, while also dominating charts across the globe.
Last month 2015 single The Less I Know The Better was revealed as the #1 song on triple j’s Hottest 100 Of The Decade countdown.
Tame Impala’s Australian headline tour in support of The Slow Rush is currently scheduled to go ahead in December.
