Following a stint as The Music’s Album Of The Week, Polaris’ second release, The Death Of Me, has been named triple j’s Feature Album this week.
The band’s highly anticipated follow-up to The Mortal Coil dropped last week and saw them embark on a national tour across the weekend, performing in Adelaide, Melbourne and Perth before taking on Sydney and Brisbane this week.
Speaking with The Music ahead of the album’s release, frontman Jamie Hails noted: "I feel that we're in a genre of music that has been looked at [as] kind of done and dusted thousands of times over the years. But for some reason, people seem to be viewing us as a very fresh, new kind of wave of that kind of style of music, which is awesome, because it's working and it's going well for us.”
Meanwhile, Billie Eilish's new James Bond theme song, No Time To Die, has also been added to rotation following its debut at #4 on the ARIA Singles chart across the weekend.
After signing a management deal with Lemon Tree Music last week, Perth outfit Death By Denim have had their new cut, Homemade, added to triple j, alongside other locals Great Gable (All My Friends), The Kid LAROI (Diva feat. Lil Tecca) and Kita Alexander (Against The Water).
They’ll be joined by international talent in the form of Glass Animals’ Your Love (Déjà Vu), Meduza’s Born To Love (feat. Shells) and Purity Ring’s stardew.
Over on the Spot Additions playlist, there’s triple j Unearthed talent in the form of Debbies (Waking Up In LA) alongside locals Juno Mamba (Blossom) and Shannen James (Collide) as well as new cuts from Arlo Parks (Eugene) and Diet Cig (Night Terrors).
