Paul Hogan’s latest Dundee endeavour will hit cinemas across the country this April.
The Aussie icon’s new film, The Very Excellent Mr. Dundee, will open on April 30, starring John Cleese, Chevy Chase, Olivia Newton-John, Shane Jacobson, Julia Morris, Rachael Carpani, Jim Jefferies and “many big international stars also joining the fun with surprise appearances”.
In the new film, Hogan plays a fictionalised version of himself on the brink of receiving a Knighthood for services to comedy. As expected, things don’t go to plan and Hogan’s “name and reputation [are] hilariously destroyed”.
“Audiences always have a great time with Paul when he’s on screen, but this film is particularly special,” director Dean Murphy said.
“People ask what's true and what's not... What I do know is fact is certainly funnier than fiction!”
The last time Hogan revisited the character was in 2018 for Tourism Australia short Dundee - The Son Of A Legend Returns Home.
