Green Day Could Score Their First ARIA Chart #1 Since 2004's 'American Idiot' This Week

Green Day could pick up their first Australian #1 album since 2004 this week. 

According to mid-week figures, the US rock outfit are gunning for the #1 spot on the ARIA Albums Chart with their new album Father Of All... 

This would be the group's highest charting album in Australia since American Idiot in the early-2000s and would be their third #1 after their breakthrough album Dookie hit the top spot in 1994. 

Green Day's previous album, Revolution Radio, peaked at #2 in 2016. 

This isn't the only Green Day album expected to be making moves on the Charts this week though, with 2017's Greatest Hits: God's Favorite Band expected to move into the top 40. 

Green Day are set to tour the album in Australia later this year when they visit alongside Weezer and Fall Out Boy for the recently announced Hella Mega Tour.

The Birds Of Prey soundtrack is expected to make its debut in the top 10 this week. The soundtrack features artists like Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Halsey, K Flay and more, with the film (starring Australia's Margot Robbie) currently in cinemas. Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody soundtrack is likely to move within the top 15 ahead of the group's Australian tour kicking off. 

Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats' collab Unlocked is likely for top 30 on debut, while Richard Marx's Limitless is aiming for top 50.  

Over on the Singles Chart, Justin Bieber's Intention feat. Quavo is looking to debut in the top 30, while Khalid x Disclosure's Know Your Worth is gunning for top 40. Onefour's Welcome To Prison and Joji's Run are both looking at top 50. 

Doja Cat's Say So and The Rubens' Live In Life are both looking at moving within the top 40.
