WAM's annual Song Of The Year competition is back for 2020 with entries officially opening today. 

Now in its 32nd year, the competition "presents a rare exposure opportunity for WA songwriters to have their music heard by industry professionals and bolster their careers with over $45K in prizes on offer".

Entries are open now for all WA songwriters, bands and producers, which features 17 categories including Blues/Roots, Country, Electronic, Experimental, Folk, Jazz, Metal/Heavy, Punk/Hardcore, Pop, Rock and Urban/Hip Hop.

The Grand Prize includes a $3,000 cash prize, as well as 100 colour vinyl 7 inches, a radio ad campaign from RTRFM and a two day recording and production session with Best Sound Engineer/Producer (studio) WAMAward recipient, Andy Lawson.

Previous winners of the competition include Stella Donnelly, Carla Geneve, Kučka, Little Birdy and Abbe May.
