The Gold Coast's music scene is getting some added support with the introduction of a new advisory panel.
The Music Advisory Group has been formed as part of the city's Music Action Plan. The group will work to positively impact and support the music scene in the area.
The panel will be chaired by Southern Cross University Chief Marketing Officer Dean Gould, who will be joined by festival director Mark Duckworth, town planner & economic development advisor Matthew Schneider, Footstomp Music's Graham Ashton, musical director Brad Hosking, musician Lachlan McGuffie, Oztix's Brad Hinds, Plus One Records' Denise Foley and Kitty Kitty Bang Bang PR's Kylie Cobb.
"It's a really exciting time for Gold Coast music!" Cobb told The Music today.
"There is so much world-class talent coming out of this region with a great music scene bubbling away. To have the City's investment to further develop the local music sector is the encouragement and good news we all need to hear right now.
"I'm stoked and honoured to be part of the Music Action Group and can't wait to help roll out the Gold Coast's Music Action Plan in 2020."
The group will run its first meeting on 20 January.
