Triple J has today revealed that the song currently sitting in the #1 position for this month's Hottest 100 is beginning to pull away.

The youth broadcaster today provided an update with one week left to vote, confirming that "after #1 and #2 jostled for the top spot, the #1 song is now cementing its lead".

Here a few other stats on voting currently:

  • #3 and #4 are extremely close with only 53 votes between them
  • With the bottom few songs constantly moving around, your vote could determine whether your fave act even makes it into the countdown
  • 47k votes are being placed per day, amounting to 1.8 million votes so far, 31% ahead of this time last year despite shortening voting by a week

Voting for the Hottest 100 closes at 3pm AEDT on Monday 20 January; click here to place your votes.

Meanwhile, Warm Tunas, "the internet's most accurate prediction" of the annual countdown, currently suggests that Denzel Curry's Like A Version performance of Rage Against The Machine's Bulls On Parade is in the #1 position, ahead of Billie Eilish's bad guy at #2 and G Flip's Drink Too Much at #3.

All the action kicks off on triple j from midday on Saturday 25 January.
