A major Australian radio network has removed any songs that could be deemed inappropriate from their stations amid the Australia’s current bushfire crisis.

As reported by Mumbrella, Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) have pulled any tracks that include references to fire or burning in the lyrics from both the Hit and Triple M networks.

SCA confirmed the report today when contacted by The Music.

The network’s head of music Mickey Maher has said that the choice was “out of respect for the devastation impacting so much of our community.

“We have removed any songs that could be considered insensitive or in poor taste across both the Hit and Triple M networks nationally.”
