
Police charged 169 people with drug-related offences at Sydney’s Field Day music festival yesterday.
The New Year’s Day event at The Domain, which featured Tyler, The Creator, RL Grime, Snakehips, Chris Lake, Disclosure and more, was attended by an estimated 27,000 people – 167 of which were arrested for possession and two arrested for supply, according to NSW Police.
A 19-year-old man was arrested for possession and will appear in court on March 11 after NSW Police found 3.4g of MDMA on him during the festival, while 10 other punters were issued with Criminal Infringement Notices for “failing to quit licensed premises and offensive behaviour”.
Meanwhile, 35 people were ejected from the premises for intoxication, 36 people were issued move-on directions with one Youth Caution issued.
At last year's festival, 155 people were arrested for drug-related offences.
