Peer-Voted APRA Song of the Year

Nominees
Amy Shark - I Said Hi
Writer: Amy Shark

Mojo Juju - Native Tongue
Writers: Mojo Juju, Joel Ma, Rita Seumanutafa

Angie McMahon - Slow Mover
Writer: Angie McMahon

Ainslie Wills - Society
Writers: Ainslie Wills, Bram Inscore, MoZella

Paul Kelly - With The One I Love
Writer: Paul Kelly

Who we think will take it out
Mojo Juju - Native Tongue

Why they should
Mojo Juju picked up a stack of nominations for Native Tongue (including Best Breakthrough Artist, Best Urban Release, Best Video at the 2018 ARIA Awards). While any of the very talented songwriters in this category could easily take it out, we think this one is going to Juju and her incredibly powerful track.

Breakthrough Songwriter Of The Year

Nominees
Baker Boy
Dean Lewis
G Flip
Jack River
Tash Sultana

Who we think will take it out
Dean Lewis

Why they should
Dean Lewis has gone from strength to strength in the past two years. From the initial success of Waves to the international chartbusting of Be Alright, Lewis has achieved more with an EP and a couple of singles than most could hope for in a career.

Country Work Of The Year

Nominees
The Wolfe Brothers - Ain’t Seen It Yet
Writers: Brodie Rainbird, Nicholas Wolfe, Thomas Wolfe, Erik Anderson

Morgan Evans - Day Drunk
Writers: Morgan Evans, Chris DeStefano, Lindy Robbins

Morgan Evans - I Do

Tori Forsyth - In The Morning
Writer: Tori Forsyth

Kasey Chambers & The Fireside Disciples - The Campfire Song (feat. Alan Pigram)
Writers: Kasey Chambers, Bill Chambers, Alan Pigram

Who we think will take it out
Morgan Evans - Day Drunk

Why they should
Have you heard Day Drunk? Goddamn that is a catchy, catchy tune. Given that Morgan Evans is nominated for that and I Do in the same category, we reckon he's got this one covered.

Blues & Roots Work Of The Year

Nominees
Angus & Julia Stone - Chateau
Writers: Angus Stone, Julia Stone

Tash Sultana - Mystik
Writer: Tash Sultana

Kim Churchill - Second Hand Car
Writers: Kim Churchill, Nicholas Hodgson

Jack Ladder & The Dreamlanders - Tell It Like It Is
Writer: Jack Ladder

Jack Ladder & The Dreamlanders - White Flag
Writer: Jack Ladder

Who we think will take it out
Tash Sultana - Mystik

Why they should
Flow State was a very strong debut album that topped off a very strong year for Tash Sultana - it's a shoo in for Blues & Roots Work Of The Year.

Dance Work Of The Year

Nominees
David Guetta & Sia - Flames
Writers: Sia Furler, Christopher Braide, David Guetta, Giorgio Tuinfort, Marcus Van Wattum

PNAU - Go Bang

Writers: Adam Hyde, Reuben Styles, Styalz (Kaelyn Behr), Samuel Manville, Robert Taylor

Galantis & Throttle - Tell Me You Love Me
Writers: Sarah Aarons, Bloodshy, Svidden, Robert Bergin, Linus Eklow, Edward Jenkins, Henrik Jonback

Zedd, Maren Morris & Grey - The Middle
Writers: Sarah Aarons, Jordan Johnson, Stefan Johnson, Marcus Lomax, Kyle Trewartha, Michael Trewartha, Anton Zaslavski

Who we think will take it out
PNAU - Go Bang
OR
Zedd, Maren Morris & Grey The Middle

Why they should
No offence to David Guetta (who's nominated alongside Sia for their track Flames) but we reckon this one's going to come down to either The Middle or Go Bang. PNAU have dominated Aus radio, while Sarah Aarons picked up a Grammy nom for The Middle so we think either are very deserving of the win.

Rock Work Of The Year

Ocean Alley - Confidence
Writers: Nic Blom, Baden Donegal, Lach Galbraith, Mitch Galbraith, Angus Goodwin, Tom O'Brien

The Rubens - Million Man
Writers: Scott Baldwin, Elliott Margin, Sam Margin, Zaac Margin, William Zeglis

The Rubens - Never Ever (feat. Sarah)
Writers: Sarah Aarons, Elliott Margin, Sam Margin

Angie McMahon - Slow Mover
Writer: Angie McMahon

Gang Of Youths - The Deepest Sighs, The Frankest Shadows
Writer: David Le’aupepe

Who we think will take it out
Ocean Alley - Confidence

Why they should
Five words: It's all about confidence, baby...

Pop Work Of The Year

Nominees
Dean Lewis - Be Alright
Writers: Dean Lewis, Jon Hume

Sheppard - Coming Home
Writers: Jason Bovino, Amy Sheppard, George Sheppard, Matthew Radosevich, Christopher Wallace

Conrad Sewell - Healing Hands
Writers: Stuart Crichton, Conrad Sewell, Stephen Wrabel

Amy Shark - I Said Hi
Writer: Amy Shark

Vance Joy - We’re Going Home
Writers: James Keogh, Daniel Wilson

Who we think will take it out
Amy Shark

Why they should
Shark cleaned up at the ARIA Awards last year (#SharkWeek) and given that I Said Hi has finally overtaken breakthrough hit Adore for plays on Youtube, we reckon this it's going to take out Pop Work Of The Year.

Urban Work Of The Year

Nominees
Bliss N Eso - Believe (feat. Mario)
Writers: Max MacKinnon, Jonathan Notley, PJ Harding, Cameron Ludik, Damian Smith

Hilltop Hoods - Clark Griswold (feat. Adrian Eagle)

Baker Boy - Marryuna (feat. Yirrmal)
Writers: Baker Boy, Dion Brownfield, Jerome Farah, Yirrmal Marika

Baker Boy - Mr La Di Da Di
Writers: Baker Boy, Dion Brownfield, Jerome Farah, Dallas Woods

Who we think will take it out
Baker Boy - Marryuna (feat. Yirrmal) or Mr La Di Da Di
OR
Hilltop Hoods - Clark Griswold (feat. Adrian Eagle)

Why they should
Baker Boy cleaned up four awards at The Age Music Victoria Awards, while Hilltop Hoods took out Best Urban Release at the ARIAs so don't be surprised if it goes to either artist.
