The upcoming Vino Paradiso festival is a veritable culinary connoisseur's paradise, featuring more than 1000 wines from 55 wineries across 25 wine regions — not to mention its spread of food, craft beer, cider and spirits — and that's just at the ground floor.

Up in the air, however, punters with a little extra cash to spare will have the chance to take part in the rather exclusive Dinner In The Sky experience, which, yep, does exactly what it says on the box: you and 21 other diners (at a time — and less than 600 tickets will be released all up) will be suspended 50 metres above Sydney Harbour for a feasting experience to remember.

Listed by Forbes among its top 10 most unusual restaurants, Dinner In The Sky is making its public Sydney debut at Vino Paradiso, across seven ticketed sessions a day that include Brunch, Lunch, Cocktails, High Tea and, of course, Dinner.

The titular Dinner component runs across four nights — Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 November — and tickets are available via Oztix.

The experience isn't for the faint of heart or light of pocket, however; tickets are just over $500 a person (including booking fees), and a minimum booking of two seats is required, so best start hocking those old instruments you never play for some extra scratch if you need it.

The wider Vino Paradiso event will be held at The Rocks from 11am-7pm on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 November.

See the festival's website for more details.
