Perth's Tired Lion have announced today that their highly-anticipated debut album will be released later this year and they've recruited Violent Soho frontman, Luke Boerdam, to join them in the studio.

The band have begun recording the LP in their hometown this week, with Boerdam arriving yesterday to begin work alongside co-producer, Dave Parkin.

"Landed in Perth and stoked to start making a record with these legends," Boerdam said yesterday.

"The new songs are sounding sick! It's got the guitar smarts of The Breeders, pulled back a little like Splendora, with some solid Basement style riffage… I can't wait for people to hear it!"

The news coincides with the announcement that Tired Lion will return to Europe this May for some festival and headline dates.
