As we said last year – we don't know why we care, but we do – and considering some of our tips last year were bang on, we thought we'd give it another crack.
I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! returns this week and we’ve been teased for months now that a Singing Sensation, Pop Diva, Shock Jock and Comedian were amongst the pack heading into the jungle.
Let's see if we can hit the money again.
Singing sensation
Natalie Imbruglia
The singer has been hinted as an ARIA-Award winner who made it big as a teenager, has gone platinum and is an actress and author.
Torn was a big deal, you guys.
Imbruglia first made it on the small screen as Beth Brennan in Neighbours when she was 16, before she got her music break in 1997 with her cover of the Ednaswap track. Torn also earned Imbruglia a bunch of ARIAs at the 1998 ceremony including Single Of The Year and Best Female Artist. The only red flag here is that, by our count, she hasn't written a book.
Casey Donovan
Casey Donovan won the second season of Australian Idol at 16 and though she hasn't specifically won an ARIA award, her debut single, Listen With Your Heart, debuted at #1 on the Singles chart and went x2 platinum. So that's…kind of the same?
This could be quite interesting too, given that Donovan said at a music conference in 2015 that she would never take part in a reality TV show again.
Pop Diva
Marcia Hines
Remember how sweet she was on Australian Idol? If you’re gonna be forced to lay in coffins filled with snakes and eat pureed bugs, you’re gonna want somebody there who will tell you that you're great and everything is going to be OK.
Natalie Bassingthwaighte
Remember when Rogue Traders were a thing? The Ten network have hinted that the Pop Diva entering the jungle has performed at the ARIAs and had top ten hits. There's two ticks right there.
Natalie Imbruglia
Torn was a BIG deal, you guys.
Shock Jock
Steve Price
The clear front-runner here.
Not only has Pricey reportedly been all but confirmed to head to South Africa, but it completely makes sense. The radio host features on The Project which often cross to the jungle during their own broadcast. Clever stuff, Ten network.
Also, he will piss A LOT of people off in there.
Kyle Sandilands
How can you talk about pissing people off without mentioning King Kyle? Let's be honest, he would be pretty damn funny to watch in there, if not only for the short temper. But Sandilands doesn't really like doing anything outside of his radio show. He even turned down a cameo on Modern Family when they filmed in Sydney just… because. Whatever floats your boat.
Comedian
Matt Okine
This looked promising, initially. He just departed his triple j breakfast slot and would presumably have a lot of free time up his sleeve, but his management recently told The Music that is not the case, so you can go ahead and put a pen through his name now.
Frank Woodley
The comedian is apparently one half of a famous duo and though they haven’t been a thing in years now, you don’t get many better Aussie duos then Lano & Woodley. Plus the camp could probably use someone actually entertaining. Physical comedy for the win.
Zoe Coombs Marr
Honestly, tell us you wouldn’t want to see Coombs Marr walking around camp as her alter ego, Dave? (That counts as a duo… sort of.) Just give her the trophy now.
Either of the Umbilical Brothers
*Insert sound effect of man exiting airplane and walking into the jungle*
Dave Hughes
Hughesy is the favourite for a couple of reasons. He ticks the "duo" and "radio presenter" boxes thanks to his radio show with Kate Langbroek and we can’t help but think he will actively take the piss out of everything that is going on in camp.
