FALLS FESTIVAL
Foster Band Initiative!

"Have you ever wanted to see your favourite Tasmanian band perform alongside the world's best? Well, along with some of our Tasmanian media friends, we're handing over three spots on 2012 line-up to a public vote! This means everyone, including you, has an important role to play in fostering Tasmania's musical talent. Here's how:

The local media on the ground and in the know have been weaving their way about the state, looking to shine a light on local artists. During the month of October, the Tasmanian press are generously opening their pages and fostering one local act, featuring them, their talents and tunes and giving them a big fat dose of love and attention that they so deserve.

You'll be given the chance to uncover your favourite new artist and help secure them a paid spot on the Falls Festival line-up alongside acts like The Flaming Lips, Two Door Cinema Club, The Hives, Hot Chip, Beach House, Coolio, Boy & Bear and many more by casting a vote via our website. All you need to do is tune in, discover, enjoy, share and vote!

We're offering three paid spots on the Marion Bay line-up, giving three fantastic Tasmanian bands a chance to perform on stage at Falls this December! The results will be announced on November 8th 2012. "We love seeing what comes out of the local music scene in Tasmania, this initiative is a great way to give local acts a national platform to launch their music and their profile and we're really excited to see the resulting performances this December." Simon Daly, Festival Director.

The acts in the running to win and their fostering media are: Asta (Togatus), Christopher Coleman Collective (The Mercury), Jed Appleton & The Quartet (Tasmaniantimes.com), Luca Brasi (Xstatic Plus), Small Black Lambs (Soda Magazine), Small City Lights (The Examiner), Lyke Giants (The Advocate), The Lawless Quartet (Warp Magazine) & Younger Dryas (Launceston Times).

Tickets to the 10th edition of Marion Bay are currently available. With even more flights recently added over the December / January period from Melbourne to Hobart, travel is cheap and super easy. Scope out your options on the Falls Travel Page and don't miss out on this year's amazing line-up.
